Welcome to Fuller Ford
Fuller Ford was founded in 1946 by Glenn E. Fuller. Glenn was involved with the automotive business his entire life. He began his career as a mechanic's helper in a small Ford dealership. Prior to the outbreak of World War II, he had advanced to the position of Parts and Service Coordinator of the largest Ford dealership on the West Coast. During the war years, he worked directly for Ford Motor CO. in charge of flight inspection at Ford's B-24 plant in Willow Run, Michigan. After the war, he continued his relationship with Ford by becoming the Zone Manager in the Los Angeles district before deciding that he wanted to become a Ford dealer in the San Diego market. He obtained a Ford franchise for the city of Chula Vista in 1946 and named it Fuller Ford.
Throughout the years, Fuller Ford has won numerous sales contests, incentives, awards and dealership performance recognition from Ford Motor Co. Fuller Ford is also on the cutting edge of customer service and has one of the newest Ford dealership facilities in San Diego County.
In 1981, Glenn's son Douglas G. Fuller was recognized by Ford Motor Company as the authorized Ford dealer in Chula Vista. Doug continued Glenn's success in the car business, and in 1994 received Time Magazine's Quality Dealer Award; an award also won by his father in 1985. Between Glenn and Doug, they have also won several Distinguished Dealer Awards from Ford Motor Co. In 1993 Doug was elected President of the New Car Dealers of San Diego County and in 1997 was elected President of the California Motor Car Dealers Association.
Fuller Ford also has a rich tradition in giving back to its community. Here at Fuller Ford; whether it is helping less fortunate families during the holidays, or participating in a fundraiser to help a local charity, we believe that staying involved in the community is an important part to our business. Fuller Ford has also been heavily involved in the building of South Bay's YMCA and Teen Center, which opened in 2001.
